Recently Mohawk tested their SmartStrand carpet for two weeks in a rhino enclosure at the Birmingham Zoo. For two weeks, Max the rhino lived in an enclosure with a carpet floor instead of dirt. Max’s enclosure was lined with two types of carpet. On one side of the enclosure was Mohawk’s SmartStrand Silk Forever Clean carpet, and only the other side was a soft nylon carpet.
After two weeks, a professional cleaning crew was brought in to clean the two types of carpet. When the cleaning was complete, Mohawk’s SmartStrand Silk Forever Clean carpet looked brand new, and the soft nylon carpet was still dirty and looked matted.
