I love the quotes and inspiring words painted on this floorHardwood flooring is gorgeous for any home, and it can add so much light, warmth, and character to a room. Hardwood flooring is able to be stylized in so many great ways. You can add as many area rugs as you want on a hardwood floor. You can paint the entire floor and it will still look beautiful. However, a new idea that I have been noticing becoming more popular, is stenciling different shapes, designs, quotes, or someone’s name on the hardwood floor.

An adorable idea that I have seen a lot, is when people first move into a home with hardwood flooring and they stencil their names on the floor. It reminds me of when couples carve their names or initials on a tree. Paint and stencil allow you to add names to the flooring without having to harm the wood.

Many stenciled floors that I have seen feature different shapes or designs painted in a pattern or randomly on the floor. The designs can vary from tiny little stars spread throughout the floor all the way to a large intricate shape painted in a pattern. Some people use stencils to paint a border on the floor, or they create intricate snowflakes or flowers.

Personally, I would buy an old grey barn looking hardwood flooring and use white paint to stencil my favorite quotes. Grey and white are a fantastic combination, but you can mix and match many different types of hardwood and paint colors. If you don’t want to use letter or word stencils, then you can easily free-hand paint the quotes onto the flooring. Movie quotes from Disney movies or shows would be great for a child’s room, or you could even paint a cute family tree on the floor with names on each branch.

A hardwood floor does not have to just be how it look after it came out of a box. You can do so many fantastic things to a hardwood floor, which is not always an option for other types of flooring. Stenciled hardwood flooring is fun, inspiring, and it will catch the attention of anyone who enters your home.

Acacia Hardwood – The Truth About Short Leaf vs. Long Leaf Acacia

Acacia has been growing in popularity over the past few years, and for good reason.
