Even though cobalt blue is this spring’s color, Pantone also picks one color that is in style all year. This year, Pantone chose the color Radiant orchid. Radiant orchid is a great vibrant color, and it inspires a sense of confidence, joy, love, and good health. This attention-drawing color is a great medium hue between pink and purple. This color easily adds a pop of color to any room in many ways.
Radiant orchid works well as small accents in neutral rooms. Gray, beige, and taupe are also wonderful compliments to this lively color. Adding a few radiant orchid throw pillows, picture frames, or even a few design trinkets will add more life to a room.You can also add some radiant orchid area rugs to a room to add a pop of color and liven up the design. If you wanted to, you could layer a larger neutral area rug and then place a radiant orchid area rug on top. The layering of the area rugs allows you to have the lively color in the room, but the neutral compliments it well so it is not too bright.
Another way to use this year’s color, is to paint a room’s accent wall this color. Make sure the other walls are painted a grey or neutral color so the accent wall is not overbearing. However, if you want to use even more of the color, then paint a small entryway or bathroom radiant orchid. Olive, deep hunter green, turquoise, teal, and light yellow are great complimentary colors to use in the fully painted radiant orchid room.
