The carpet types featured below are residential carpet styles that have been selected for quality and value. These residential carpet styles feature both nylon and polyester carpet fiber, as well as wool and olefin Berbers. Nylon carpet is our most popular choice, but polyester also offers a value that's hard to beat.
Polyester fiber was created in 1953 by the DuPont company. Polyester fibers are strong, resistant to stretching and shrinking, and resistant to most chemicals. Polyester fibers are also quick drying, crisp and resilient when wet or dry, wrinkle resistant, mildew resistant, abrasion resistant, retains heat-set pleats and crease, and it is easily washed. Polyester carpet fiber has become an industry standard. Polyester is synonymous with low prices, but now its stain resistance and resilience means these products perform great too.
