History
Carpet Express was founded in January 1991, when local businessman Murray Bandy purchased a mom-and-pop outlet store named Worth Carpet. During the early years, approximately 90% of our business was carpet and carpet accessories. The main objective of the store was to offer wholesale carpet prices to individuals across the country. Over the years, Carpet Express has grown to become a full service wholesale flooring center specializing in hardwood flooring, laminate flooring, discount carpet, area rugs, discount vinyl flooring, and other resilient flooring, such as ceramic tile and porcelain.
In 1995, Mike Jones joined Carpet Express as General Manager. Mike has a long history with all aspects of the floor covering industry, with a strong emphasis in hardwood flooring and vinyl. Over the past 12 years, Mike has helped establish Carpet Express as one of the Top 100 Floor Covering Stores in the country.
Carpet Express
has experienced steady growth over the last 17 years. In 1998, we added a distribution center located at Connector 3 in Dalton. In 1999, we added a new showroom and offices to our original location, on Market Street. In 2003, we opened a new showroom and warehouse near our distribution center. In February 2007, Carpet Express opened an additional warehouse at Connector 3 dedicated exclusively to hardwood flooring.
Although we have grown tremendously, our sales philosophy has remained the same. Know your products, and treat your customers right. Treat them the same way that you would like to be treated.
Sales Staff
Our sales team is anchored by Jim Young, Jr. and Bret Jones. Additionally, we have Suzanne, Peggy, Greg Smith, Don, Seth, Benji, Steve, Greg Strickland, and Scott to round out our sales staff. Our In House Sales Force has about 275 years of combined floor covering experience and is expertly trained to assist our customers.
We'll help you select the product that will perform to your expectations. We know the correct underlayments, adhesives, and other accessories needed to complete your floor covering purchase. We'll go the extra mile to ensure your entire order is handled right.
